One of Jared's favorite events, Geekway to the West, was last week. We played some games. Now let's talk about those games. There's way too many things in this episode.
We went to Nashville Tabletop Day and played some games! I don't have anything funny to say about this episode, but that doesn't mean it's not worth listening to.
We came up with around a dozen puns for the name of this episode (including a great Han Solo joke) but whatever we call it, we're talking about solo games. We've not played many solo games before this episode so it was an interesting experiment.
Dinosaurs may be extinct, but board games featuring them are as alive as ever. We took a huge list and dropped a K-T boundary inducing hunk of rock on the list to see which ones were the best. I'm also really sorry about those jokes.
Jondi went out west on the Oregon Trail so we're talking about games that you can play when you only have your phone, just like the settlers did in the 1800s! Are app versions of board games the future, or just a weird gimmick? Probably a little of both.
We claim that this podcast is about board games and sometimes food, but why not both at the same time? Will we ever fix the echo by finishing the walls in the studio? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z.
We're looking at some great (and not-so-great) 2 player games just in time for Valentine's Day! We're trying a BUNCH of new stuff so sorry if some of it doesn't work. New studio computer, new audio settings, new format! What a rush!
Sometimes you just can't bring Gloomhaven with you on an airplane. But that's okay, there are other games you can take with you. We talk about some of our choices for those games in this episode.
When fans re-theme games, or add their own variants, or add house rules! Some of these are available for download (like the Ticket to Ride) while others are just fun to look at! We're going to try some of these out if we can, especially some of these variants.
Starting with this episode we're back to our original schedule! Jondi and Jared talk about how they failed their 2018 10x10 and will never do another 10x10 again, except for maybe both of them doing them in 2019.
